HSV youth in focus: Cup final and the start of the season of the U21 are imminent!
Next Saturday, June 14, 2025, it will be high in Hamburg's football business. The U12 and U15 of Hamburger SV are in the cup final around the Hamburg junior cup. While the U12 will compete against TSV Sasel, the U15 fights against FC St. Pauli in the city derby. These games promise exciting duels on the square and a burning interest on the part of the fans.
But these are not the only highlights in the coming week. On Sunday, June 15th, the U11 of the HSV has a point game against USC Paloma. From Monday, June 16, the U21 will prepare for the new challenges of the 2025/26 season. Head coach Lukas Pfeiffer will welcome his team to the first training session this Wednesday, June 18th.
The new season of the women's Bundesliga
Another significant success was recently given to Hamburger SV. The association received the license for participation in the Google Pixel Women's Bundesliga for the 2025/26 season. This allows the HSV women to compete in a league that is increased on 14 teams. The joy of this success is great because the Hamburg women together with the 1st FC Union Berlin and the 1st FC Nürnberg come to the Bundesliga as promoted. The league starts on September 6, 2025 with the opening game between FC Bayern Munich and Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the Allianz Arena, during the last match day on May 17, 2026.
But that's not all. The HSV women had already received the license to participate in the 2nd women's Bundesliga for the 2024/25 season. The German Football Association (DFB) was officially announced by the German Football Association (DFB). The SV 67 vineyard remains as a twelfth in the 2nd Women's Bundesliga, while MSV Duisburg, after relegation from the Google Pixel Bundesliga, has withdrawn its application for the second division. The new season is opened with the first round of the DFB Cup between August 17 and 19, the draw will take place on June 27th.
A look into the future of women's football
This upswing in women's football is part of a larger plan that the DFB Presidium has passed in 2021. The aim of the “strategy women in football FF27” aims to double the media reach of women's football and increase the proportion of women in responsible functions of the DFB to at least 30 percent. It is expected that the number of active players, trainers and referees will increase by 25 percent. The HSV women are part of this change and actively contribute to these goals (see also dfb.de).
The HSV women are facing an exciting time in which they can prove themselves against national and international competitors. With a strong team and a committed club management, all prerequisites are met to be successful in the upcoming competition.
The coming week will bring a lot of excitement for the players and fans of Hamburger SV. The entire environment is looking forward to the games and look forward to seeing how the teams do in competition!
