The party conference brings together around 350 delegates and numerous guests, including Hamburg's First Mayor Peter Tschentscher and the SPD MEP Bernd Lange. The planned process is that the party conference will begin on Friday, October 10th at 6:00 p.m. with the application discussion and end at around 9:00 p.m. The continuation will take place on Saturday with reports, the election of the new state board and the awarding of the Willy Brandt Medal to Prof. Dr. h.c. Christa Randzio Plath.
Elections and application advice
An important point in the official program are the reports from the state chairmen as well as the treasurer and the auditors. These reports are followed by the discussion and discharge of the board of directors. In particular, the elections for the SPD state executive committee for the term of office from 2025 to 2027 are being followed with great interest. In the last re-election in 2023, Melanie Leonhard was able to achieve a vote of 91.5 percent, which, however, represents a decrease compared to the 2021 elections.
