Eintracht Frankfurt: Feverish preparation for St. Pauli duel!
Eintracht Frankfurt is under pressure today, October 25, 2025: After a disastrous 1:5 defeat against Liverpool in the Champions League, the turnaround in the Bundesliga game against St. Pauli should be successful. At Deutsche Bank Park, the team around coach Dino Toppmöller will try to turn things around. Eintracht has already experienced some ups and downs this season. They are currently in eighth place in the table with ten points from seven games.
But self-confidence has suffered. The team has scored 19 goals in the league, which ranks second in this regard. However, the defense is a big problem child, because with 18 goals conceded they hold the negative record as the weakest defense in the league. A win against St. Pauli would be all the more important, especially since the last four Bundesliga duels against Hamburg ended unbeaten: three wins and one draw.
Concern about the defense and the plan against St. Pauli
Toppmöller plans to give his protégés a new approach. The coach wants to take an example from Liverpool, who remained steadfast despite their own setbacks. “We have to keep the aggressiveness and focus high,” he demands and makes it clear that clear announcements and individual discussions are necessary to support each player. While Eintracht has almost everything to offer in terms of personnel, only Oscar Höjlund and Elias Baum are missing.
St. Pauli is also struggling this season with only eight goals scored and is at the bottom of the table. The team has lost its last four Bundesliga games, most recently 3-0 against Hoffenheim. Despite their difficulties, Toppmöller warns against underestimating their opponents because every team is dangerous in the Bundesliga. St. Pauli has won two of its first seven league games and is now in 15th place.
The path to recovery
The Eintracht team is currently valued at around €380 million and they haven't quite adapted to the upper echelons of the Bundesliga yet. The number of members of around 150,000 makes Eintracht Frankfurt one of the largest clubs in the Bundesliga. Their clever transfer policy brought them high income of 125 million euros in the previous season.
Eintracht Frankfurt has an impressive history, not least thanks to winning the Europa League in the 2021/2022 season. They will even be represented internationally in the UEFA Champions League again in the 2025/2026 season, which is already a remarkable success. It is all the more important that they improve their Bundesliga performance in order to be able to compete in the top half of the table.
The fans are hoping for a return to winning ways and that the fire will be reignited tonight against St. Pauli. Will the team manage to recover and put in a convincing performance? That remains to be seen.
