Winter deck opened on St. Pauli: mulled wine & kale special!
In Hamburg, the pre-Christmas season begins with a special flair. On October 22, 2025, the winter deck on Spielbudenplatz opened its doors and promises a real experience for all visitors with its “rustic hut atmosphere”. There, guests can look forward to classics such as mulled wine and cocoa as well as other specialties such as the “Curbstone Swallow” and the “Nutcracker”. In keeping with the opening, the kale special took place at the St. Pauli night market, where both classic kale and a vegan version were offered. Entry to the night market is free and relaxation can be found among the lights and sounds around the neighborhood.
The prices for the hearty kale dishes are moderate: the classic plate with smoked pork, cabbage sausage and potatoes costs 15 euros, while the vegan version with plant-based cabbage sausage is available for 10 euros.
Opening times and special promotions
The winter deck will be open daily from 4 p.m. until November 9, 2025, before moving into the main season. From November 10th to December 23rd, the lights and scents tempt you at the Santa Pauli Christmas market, which also takes place at Spielbudenplatz. The Christmas market combines classic Christmas atmosphere with the special neighborhood flair of the Reeperbahn and offers an extensive range. Here, visitors not only enjoy mulled wine and live music, but also strip shows and unusual gift ideas.
The exact opening times for the Christmas market are as follows: Monday to Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., Thursday to Saturday until 1:00 a.m. and Sunday until 11:00 p.m. On special days such as Remembrance Day, which is celebrated on November 16th, the market opens at 3 p.m. Another attraction is Santa’s mulled wine pharmacy, where individual creations are possible.
