Anklam's mayor warns: District is slowing down green future!

There's a lot of boiling going on in Anklam. Mayor Michael Galander (independent) openly expresses his frustration with the lack of support from the district. Last Thursday, as he had hoped, he did not attend a ceremonial groundbreaking ceremony for the Anumar solar park in Strittense, but instead had to pay attention to the regulatory review process for the B-Plan. “This is a unique and disappointing event,” said Galander. The district initiated the procedure and is causing unrest in the Hanseatic city.

The mood quickly becomes testy because Galander sharply criticizes the district administration. In particular, he criticizes the behavior of District Administrator Michael Sack (CDU), who no longer communicates actively after his election and often simply does not respond to inquiries. “There is something going on,” said Galander, referring to the stagnating economic development in the district, which not only worries him but also other mayors. A good hand at driving projects forward looks different.

New energy projects in Anklam

The project not only promises a sustainable energy supply for the Hanseatic League and energy transition, but also brings with it 10 new jobs. During the implementation, the ENERTRAG Group works closely with the Cosun Beet Company to use biogenic CO₂ to produce green methanol. These measures contribute to achieving the goal of establishing Anklam as a showcase project for renewable energies and using local resources.

The electrolysis should take place during times of high availability of electricity from renewable sources and thus not only offers solutions for possible network bottlenecks, but also opportunities for future developments in the region.
