Anklam's EI youth inspires at the summer cup in Deetz!
The football scene in northern Germany thrives on ambitious young talents and exciting competitions. Last weekend, the Anklamer EI youth took part in the FC Deetz Summer Cup, where a total of 15 teams fought for victory. The Anklam team performed strongly in the preliminary round, but had to finish the group phase without winning any points and ultimately ended up in 14th place. Coach David Schulz was satisfied with his players' performance despite the challenges. “The boys learned valuable lessons against some strong teams, but they were also able to gain valuable experience,” he said after the tournament.
The participants of the Anklamer team were able to take some brilliant moments home with them. In the bronze round they achieved two impressive victories: They beat Oscherslebener SC 2-0 and were also able to beat FC Borussia Belzig 3-2. Five players contributed the goals to these victories. Henning Rosenthal scored twice, followed by Carlo Gransow, Hannes Bronsch, Simon Wiesner and Frederik Becker, who were each able to get on the top scorer list. The crowning conclusion to the day was a refreshing swim in the nearby lake at the Deetzer Parkstadion.
A summer full of football tournaments
But that was just part of the summer football festival. The DJK-SV Edling organized seven tournaments in the Edlinger-Lindenpark, which took place in bright sunshine and pleasant temperatures. The repertoire ranged from bouncy castles to goal wall shooting and refreshing paddling pools. The G juniors started for the little ones, with SV Forsting-Pfaffing dominating the first games.
The E-Juniors experienced two highlights: TSV Babensham celebrated a double victory in the E1 and E2 tournaments, while the DJK-SV Edling 1 team took second place in the E1 tournament. The D-Youth team also has reason to celebrate: DJK-SV Edling under coach Alois Blüml won the last D-Youth tournament without conceding a goal. Despite temperatures over 30 degrees, the participants and organizers clapped themselves on the back for the successful event.
International perspectives for youth football
In 2025, international tournaments will also be on the agenda for many young footballers. Teams will have the opportunity to show off their skills in locations such as the beach of Barcelona or the historic squares of Rome. It's not just about competition, but also about promoting team spirit and making new friends. These tournaments offer the chance to make valuable international contacts and experience unforgettable moments. For many players, this could be the first step towards a promising career in football.
The summer of 2025 promises many exciting encounters and experiences for youth footballers in Northern Germany. From the challenges of the Summer Cup to the highs and lows of the DJK-SV Edling tournaments - the enthusiasm for the sport can be felt everywhere.
