Fight, celebrate, be amazed: Eldena monastery market beckons with attractions!
In the picturesque setting of the Eldena monastery ruins, one of the most famous landmarks on the Baltic Sea in Western Pomerania, takes place onJune 14 and 15, 2025the10. Eldena Monastery Marketinstead of. On these two days it will be colorful, busy and full of traditions again when around 80 stands and stations around the monastery ruins and the monastery barn open their doors. The market has different opening times every day: on Saturday from10 a.m. to 7 p.mand on Sunday from11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
At the monastery market, visitors can discover a variety of products ranging from herbal tea and vegetables to art and furniture. Handcrafted ceramics, woodwork, jewelry and even ironwork are also available. What's special: Many of the market participants produce their goods directly on site. Here you can experience forging, baking, weaving and other crafts up close.
Colorful program for young and old
The highlight of the market is not only the products, but also the numerous activities that are organized. Visitors have the opportunity to get creative themselves: be it creating paper, writing with ink and pen, making candles or trying their hand at archery. The program also includes various workshops, such as making nestel ribbons and the basics of sword fighting. Admission is free, but it's worth bringing some cash for the hands-on activities, food and drinks.
The program on Saturday is particularly diverse. It starts at 11 a.mFairytale time in the fairytale tent, followed by combat demonstrations and weapons displays, sword fighting exhibitions and historical circle dances. The theater performances ofTheater Western Pomeraniawill take place at 3:30 p.m., where scenes from the summer play “The Conflict” will be shown. On Sunday the day begins with a church service at 10 a.m., and many of the highlights of the Saturday program are repeated here too.
A celebration of traditions
Things get particularly exciting in...Greifenschlag knight's camp, where you can talk to warriors and craftsmen and learn more about armor, weapons and techniques from the 13th and 14th centuries. At the Liutreka and Gryffenhain camps there is information about historical armor and weapons from the early Middle Ages. Visitors also marvel at live music and instrument displays while browsing through various stalls.
There is also one for younger visitorsPunch and Judy showand creative offers for crafting with natural materials. To ensure that this trip to the Baltic Sea remains a fond memory, we also think of fun hours with the big Ferris wheel and international gastronomy.
