Record run in Ueckermünde: 113 participants sprint for victory!
The second track race of the UER running cup series took place in picturesque Ueckermünde on September 4, 2025 and not only brought with it a high number of participants of 113 athletes, but also exciting competitions under bright skies and temperatures around 30 degrees. This race took place after a 39-day summer break and the combination of nice weather and the recent breaks ensured numerous successful runners. Race director Frank Greiner-Mai was enthusiastic about the great response and the consistently strong performances of the athletes.
The youngest participants, aged under eight, ensured exciting finishes. Among the fastest times in the 400-meter course were Mia Beyer from VFC Anklam, who finished with a time of 1:37 minutes, and Willi Keller from Strasburg Elementary School, who crossed the finish line with a time of 1:36 minutes. The 800 meter races also offered thrilling competitions with Manthe Elena (U14) and Gerold Kuhn (U10), both of whom reached the finish in 3:11 minutes.
Fastest performances of the event
Another highlight was the 1000 meter run, which Fabian Greiner-Mai from SV Unit Ueckermünde won with a time of 3:10 minutes. In the women's 3000 meters it was Stefanie Czinczoll (W45) who achieved the fastest time with a time of 13:23 minutes. In the men's race, Sven Lorenz from 1. LAV Torgelow (M40) won with 10:22 minutes.

The 3000 meter walk, in which 18 athletes took part, was particularly noteworthy. The fastest woman was Cindy Osterburg von Waldeshöhe (W35) with 23:00 minutes, while Marcus Lorenz (M35) impressed among the men with a time of 18:59 minutes. Klaus Hoffmann (M50) was the fastest participant in the walkers with 18:41 minutes.
