Discover the architecture: Architecture Day in 16 cities in MV!
Now the time has come, the last weekend in June is just around the corner and with it the eagerly awaited Architecture Day in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. On June 28th and 29th, 2025, the diversity of building will be celebrated in 16 cities. These events offer insight into buildings that are otherwise inaccessible and make the region's architectural heritage come alive. The President of the MV Chamber of Architects, Christoph Meyn, invites all citizens to actively engage with architecture.
From Stralsund to Rostock and from Wismar to Neubrandenburg, the participating cities are as colorful as the program itself. In recent years, Architecture Day has firmly established itself in the event calendar, and there will also be a varied offering in 2025. In addition to tours and guided tours, the program includes city walks, construction site tours as well as lectures and workshops. The motto “Building diversity” is the focus and reflects the different facets of architecture presented by the participating cities. Those interested can find more information on the MV Chamber of Architects homepage, where the program details are available.
Architecture in Berlin: Another highlight
At the same time as the event in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, a similar spectacle is taking place in Berlin. The program on the same weekend offers over 150 individual appointments for around 80 different offers in all districts of the capital. Organized by members of the Berlin Chamber of Architects, Architecture Day here also has the motto “Build diversity”.
In Berlin, visitors can discover the latest developments in architecture, urban planning and interior and landscape architecture. 48 current projects will be made accessible through guided tours, and 31 architectural offices will also open their doors for a look behind the scenes. Here too, great emphasis is placed on topics such as climate and resource protection as well as social cohesion. Particular examples include kindergartens, schools and innovative usage concepts for old existing buildings.
Admission free!
Both events have no entry fee, so visitors have the opportunity to explore the world of architecture and urban planning without major hurdles. These opportunities are designed to highlight the importance of architecture in our everyday lives and create awareness of the built environment that surrounds us.
Whether in northern Germany or the capital: Architecture Day 2025 makes visible what makes architecture so diverse and lively. Grab your family or friends and explore the numerous offers! You will be surprised at how much there is to discover.
