Next weekend things will get serious for the football teams in West Mecklenburg. The first round of the national football cup is coming up and promises exciting duels. While the fans look forward to the games, we look back at the past test games of the local association league teams that were last on the pitch.
The last test matches took place a few days ago. FC Mecklenburg Schwerin didn't have luck on their side and suffered a narrow 0-1 defeat against the Hamburg regional league team HSV Barmbek-Uhlenhorst. In contrast, MSV Pampow became a real goal festival by winning 8-1 against TSG Gadebusch. The third big player, FC Schönberg, also didn't let up and defeated their opponents, Unit Grevesmühlen, 5-2.
Hot derby before the first round
In the upcoming first round of the state cup, the three West Mecklenburg association league teams all have away games. The duels are scheduled as follows:

Draws and exciting games in the second round
On August 20th, the draw for the second round will be broadcast live in the OSTSEE-ZEITUNG media center. The teams' future opponents are determined here. The matches between FC KSG Lalendorf and FC Schönberg also provide anticipation. Another highlight will be the clash between SV Murchin/Rubkow against TSG Neustrelitz, who plays in the NOFV Oberliga.
The second round games will take place on September 7th and 8th, 2024 and offer home advantage to all lower-class teams. This creates even more excitement when top-class opponents meet the underdogs. The games are already promising in advance:
