Anklams D youth handball players: strong in the sand despite adversity!
In the Eldenna lido in Greifswald, the 3rd Beach Cup took place on July 12th and 13th, in which the D-youth handball players from Anklam performed. The event, which was presented by the WGG, offered a sporting spectacle for large and small spectators, which was under the motto "More than just sand under your feet". In addition to beach handball, many other sports such as beach soccer, beach volleyball and beach rugby were also offered. Culinary offers and a supporting program with fun for children rounded off the event, while the initiative to bring your own drinking vessels, ensured sustainable aspects, as the city administration of Greifswald announced in a press release ( greifswald.de ). The supporters and sponsors, including Stadtwerke Greifswald and Hansehelden Care, also contributed to a successful event.
The young talents from Anklam were able to assert themselves in a strong field of participants and end up taking a respectable 6th place. They had difficulties, especially with the weather and the slippery surface, which did not reduce their sporting performance. After two defeats against Stralsund HV, which ended in third place, and the later tournament winner of Stavenhagener SV I, followed the first victory against the second representation of SG Vorpommern. An exciting duel against Stavenhagen II ended in a nerve-wracking shootout, which Klam narrowly lost, reported nordkurier.de .
fighting spirit and team spirit
Despite further defeats against SG Vorpommern I and HSV Grimmen, the team could not be discouraged. Trainer Susann Lange emphasized the strong morality and the team spirit: "It was great fun for everyone, even if the conditions were challenging." This underlines how important such events are not only for sporting success, but also for the cohesion and personal development of the children. In times when many children and adolescents live more in digital worlds, sport can represent a valuable bridge to society, as the German sports youth emphasized.
sports clubs are essential for the personal development of children and adolescents. According to the German sports youth, almost half of all children and adolescents are members of sports clubs. Access to movement options is particularly important in order to counteract the negative effects of lockdowns and digital isolation. A restart for child and youth sports should follow to promote their movement and social participation. The demands for the future promotion of sport include the improvement of the financial support and strengthening sports clubs as democratic spaces ( jugendhilfortal.de ). )
Overall, it should be noted that the beach cup in Greifswald was not only a sporty highlight, but also an important step towards promoting young sport and community. The D-youth handball players from Anklam have sent a strong message with their performance and commitment that goes far beyond the field.
