JobBiber 2.0: Gützkow's students looking for career opportunities!
The Peenetal School in Gützkow invites you to the second edition of the job fair called JobBiber 2.0 on January 29, 2026. This important event, which is organized by the committed teacher Josephin Klaeske (German and English) and Ulrike Wodrich (AWT), proved successful last year and is now attracting even more companies. A total of 24 companies have already registered – a pleasing increase compared to last year. Particularly exciting: a total of 63 companies from the region are represented, including craft businesses, doctors' practices, physiotherapy and clinics, which will offer the students exciting insights into the different professional worlds.
On this day, students in grades 8 to 10 at the Peenetal School have the opportunity to find out about jobs and career opportunities in a relaxed atmosphere. The job fair takes place in the caravan resort at Kosenowsee, which embeds the event in an attractive environment. In addition, an early career orientation day is organized at school for younger students in grades 1 to 7, where parents present their professional backgrounds and thus make a valuable contribution. This is a great opportunity to make young people aware of the topic of career choice at an early stage.
Practical experience for ninth graders
The ninth graders can look forward to a special opportunity: As part of a practical learning day, they can gain practical experience in a company of their choice. All 21 ninth grade students have already found a place in the first half of the year. This shows how important the practical orientation is for the school and how the connection to local companies is strengthened at the same time.
The organizers hope that the high number of participants and the varied program will encourage lively interaction between students and company representatives. Such a trade fair not only gives an insight into the professional world, but also enables young people to deal directly with employers.
In Germany there are over 200 job and career fairs every year, which are known under various names such as career day, company contact fair or applicant fair. For many students, attending a job fair is a valuable opportunity to network and gather first-hand information. In addition to JobBiber, there are many other trade fairs that are specifically aimed at the needs of target groups such as schoolchildren, students or young professionals. Organizing such trade fairs is not child's play; the organizers try to offer informative and well-structured events in order to offer participants real added value.
It is also important for young people to prepare well for such a visit. An excerpt from the tips for successfully participating in job fairs includes, among other things, studying the program in advance, bringing application documents with you and thinking about a short self-introduction. Anyone who shows up at the stand in a friendly and punctual manner and shows interest in the company has a good chance of making a positive impression.
Together, the Peenetal School offers its students an excellent platform with this job fair to immerse themselves in the professional world and take the first steps on their career path. “Youth work here on site is close to our hearts, and we are thrilled by the large number of companies that are ready to open their doors,” said the organizers, thereby further enriching the educational landscape in Gützkow.
The job fair is a must for anyone interested. Further details and information about the event can be found on the Ostsee-Zeitung website, where the event is described in detail: Ostsee-Zeitung reports.
