Celebrate properly before the chapter ends: The last party in the iconic Bexx Club in Greifswald took place at the weekend and attracted numerous partygoers. The building, located at Schönwalde 1, is condemned to demolition after many years of operation. The slogan “Bexx” is still proudly emblazoned on the facade, but the last hours of the legendary location are numbered. Loud Northern Courier Tickets for the event sold out quickly and demand was huge - hundreds of tickets were sold!
The history of the Bexx Club goes back a long way. Organizer Volker Fritzsche can look back on a long connection to the location, having started as a buffet manager there in 1984. The discotheque has changed its name several times over the years: starting as Fly-In, then as SoundGarden and finally as Bexx, it has developed into a permanent fixture in the party scene over the years. The crowds were always enormous, especially on Christmas Eve, and many people celebrated unforgettable nights there.
Farewell to an institution
The Bexx Club was not only a place for extravagant parties, but also an event location that offered a platform for special events. A special mention deserves the fact that the club accepted mom note templates for selected events, making it attractive to young partygoers. Despite the welcoming flair and lively atmosphere, development has not stopped: the building was sold a few years ago and has been empty ever since. The demolition is scheduled to take place in the coming months to make space for new living space and practices. Because it looks like a lively new district will be created here - the Rainbow Kita is already being built opposite the Bexx.
For everyone who has fond memories of the Bexx, all that remains is to look back. Goodbyes are always difficult, especially when it comes to a place that offers so many beautiful moments. The Bexx Club will live on in the hearts of many Greifswald residents, even if the building will soon be a thing of the past.
