Children enchant Güstrow in the circus: applause for great talents!
The anticipation of the new school year was expressed in a very special way in Güstrow this year. For five days, the area behind the Workers' Welfare Family Leisure Learning Advisory Center was transformed into a vibrant circus area. 32 children between the ages of 6 and 14 performed here and showed what they had learned in the colorful circus world. From ball artistry to dance performances to rope acrobatics and animal surprises - the program was varied and captivating. Again Northern Courier reported, the final performance received thunderous applause from the proud parents, siblings and numerous spectators.
One of the highlights of the show was undoubtedly the impressive human pyramid. Children like Lina, Fritz and Ayden, who were there last year, made amazing progress and actively contributed to the success of the event. Kerstin Mauck, who has been involved in the circus week for ten years, was released by her employer for this week. Your experience pays off and enriches the circus project immensely.
A community project
The circus week is organized by committed partners: the parish church, the cathedral community, Horizonte and the AWO have come together to breathe life into this great offer. Sarah Kerstan, the community educator, was very positive about the weather situation. It only rained once, otherwise the events could be held in dry weather and even in sunshine. The successful conclusion was the singing of a song together, which the children sang very exuberantly and happily.
The circus project is not only a nice way to pass the time, but is also deeply anchored in the educational landscape. The initiative “Circus Makes You Strong – Circus for All e.V.” has set itself the goal of establishing nationwide educational alliances and promoting circus educational projects for children and young people. The target group includes children and young people aged 3 to 18, with a particular focus on those who have difficulties accessing cultural education opportunities. Further information can be found on the website Alliances for Education.
Circus education as a key to cultural education
Circus education plays a crucial role in promoting creative talent. Under the umbrella of the Federal Working Group (BAG) Circus Pedagogy e.V., experts are committed to providing children and young people with cultural education and the opportunity for self-designed exercise through circus offerings. A network of around 250 members, including institutions and individuals, actively promotes the interests of circus institutions and circus educators. Not only are quality standards developed, but training and further education opportunities are also created to meet the needs of children in socially disadvantaged areas. You can find out more about this on the BAG Circus Education website: circus-diversity.de.
The children in Güstrow not only experienced an unforgettable week in the circus, but also learned valuable skills that will accompany them on the rest of their lives. The applause at the final performance was not only a reward for the little ones' hard work, but also a sign of the strength and value of such collaborative projects. Because, as the saying goes: everyone is equal in the circus - the only thing that counts here is having fun together!
