Leon Madsen: Danish speedway star with title ambitions in 2026!

Leon Madsen has once again shown what he is made of. The Danish racing driver, together with his colleague Andreas Lyager, has the Speedway Pairs European Championships won. In the final race in Dünaburg (Daugavpils), the two Danes scored 31 points together, with Madsen with 18 and Lyager with 13 points contributing significantly to the success. Latvia followed closely behind with 30 points and a strong performance from Lebedevs.

But that's not all: Madsen has also received a wildcard for the upcoming GP Challenge in Holsted, an opportunity that he is keen to take advantage of. After a mixed 2024 season in which he was unable to qualify for the Speedway Grand Prix series, this opportunity counts double for him. He would like to return to the elite class as European champion in 2026.

The challenges of the season

The GP Challenge in Holsted in particular will be crucial for Madsen. There are some strong riders on the starting list alongside him, including Slovenian champion Matej Zagar, Polish rider Kacper Woryna and local Anders Thomsen. Each of them will give everything to secure a place in the next Grand Prix season. Madsen needs to get in shape today rather than tomorrow to compete.

View of the FIM Speedway GP of Denmark

In addition to his participation in the GP Challenge, Madsen is in focus when the FIM Speedway GP of Denmark at the Vojens Speedway Center. This event is the eighth round of the series and takes place in a stadium that has been a national speedway stadium since 1995. Madsen, relying on the home advantage, is far behind the leader Bartosz Zmarzlik, who is currently in first place in the overall standings with 108 points. Madsen is relatively close behind him with 92 points and could close the gap with a strong performance.

He is also accompanied by his teammates Mikkel Michelsen and Rasmus Jensen, who are also taking part in the race. However, Michelsen is battling an ankle injury, while Jensen is new to the GP circuit and has made a name for himself as Danish champion.

The next few weeks will be crucial for Leon Madsen. It is important to master the challenges in the best possible way and fulfill your dream of a world championship title. We are excited to see how the upcoming races develop and keep our fingers crossed for our Danish hero!
