But that's not all: Madsen has also received a wildcard for the upcoming GP challenge in Holsted, a chance that he absolutely wants to use. After a mixed 2024 season, in which he could not qualify for the Speedway Grand Prix series, this opportunity counts twice. As a European champion, he would like to return to the elite class in 2026.
The challenges of the season
The GP Challenge in Holsted in particular becomes crucial for Madsen. Next to him are some strong drivers in the start list, including the Slovenian Champion Matej Zagar, the Polish driver Kacper Woryna and the locals Thomsen. View of the FIM Speedway GP from Denmark
In addition to his participation in the GP Challenge, the focus is on Madsen when the Fim Speedway GP from Denmark Speedway Center is coming up. This event is the eighth round of the series and takes place in a stadium that has been considered a national Speedway Stadium since 1995. Madsen, who is based on the home advantage, has a big gap to the leading Bartosz Zmarzlik, who is currently the top priority with 108 points in the overall ranking. Madsen is relatively close behind with 92 points and could shorten the distance with a strong performance.
He is also accompanied by his teammates Mikkel Michelsen and Rasmus Jensen, who also take part in the race. However, Michelsen fights with an ankle injury, while Jensen is new to the GP circus and has made a name for himself as a Danish master.
The next few weeks will be decisive for Leon Madsen. It is important to master the challenges as best as possible and to fulfill the dream of a world championship title. We are excited to see how the upcoming races will develop and keep our fingers crossed for our Danish hero!
