New twist in the Fabian murder case: Woman arrested – investigations underway!
The murder case of eight-year-old Fabian from Güstrow recently took a new, shocking turn. On November 6, 2025, the public prosecutor's office issued an arrest warrant for a woman strongly suspected of being involved in the crime. The identity of the accused remains secret as the investigation intensifies following the tragic disappearance of the boy who has been missing since October 10th. Loud Explosive The arrest was announced at a press conference.
Fabian didn't go to school one day in October because he felt unwell. From that point on, his mother became alarmed when he didn't return home. After days of intensive searching, the police found the boy's body in a pond about 15 kilometers from Güstrow on October 14th. The gruesome circumstances suggest that his body was burned, probably to cover the tracks. DNA analysis finally confirmed his identity.
Investigations after TV show
The new clues were triggered by the ZDF program “Aktenzeichen XY… unsolved” on November 5, 2025. The investigators were looking for further witnesses. ZDFheute reports that the questions on the show resulted in a wave of 33 clues. After the broadcast, the police searched several properties in Reimershagen and the nearby village of Rum Kogel, supported by around 120 emergency services.
During these searches, an off-road vehicle was seized and is now being examined for forensic purposes. Police are convinced that Fabian was killed on the day he disappeared, between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. A sexual offense could be ruled out. When Fabian disappeared, it was initially assumed that he might have wanted to go to his father.
Crime development in Germany
The tragic case is another example of the current crime situation in Germany. According to the 2024 police crime statistics, the number of registered crimes fell by 1.7% to around 5.84 million. Despite these numbers, more and more people report a reduced sense of security. Crime is an issue that is deeply rooted in people's everyday lives and it is particularly frightening when the injustice happens so close to home. Statista shows that crimes against life, such as murder and manslaughter, only account for around 0.1% of cases, but this still affects countless fates.
Given such worrying incidents, it remains to be seen how the investigating authorities will proceed. Hope for justice for Fabian's family remains as the community in Güstrow and beyond stands together and waits for answers.
