The Ludwigsluster Schlossgartenlauf on Sunday has developed into a true folk festival with over 600 participants. Numerous family and friends actively cheered on the runners, which contributed to a great atmosphere. The organizers of SG 03 were enthusiastic about the high number of registrations; the original 530 expectations were far exceeded. One reason for the record participation was certainly the fantastic weather, which provided the backdrop for this popular event. A highlight of the Schlossgartenlauf is the main run over ten kilometers, which is laid out in laps over five kilometers and is suitable for both experienced runners and beginners. Mayor Stefan Pinnow didn't miss the opportunity to take part in the main run and warmly welcome the athletes in the starting area. The event location, the Ludwigslust Palace Park, and the Lenné School grounds served as a base for runners and organizers, while the spectators exuded great charisma and energy.
A folk festival for everyone
The event is now the 40th edition of the traditional event and was able to impress with numerous innovative ideas and a good hand on the part of the organizers. For everyone who wanted to take part spontaneously, there was also the opportunity to register late at the organization office on June 15, 2025. Anyone who missed their registration could join in on Sunday morning from 8:00 a.m. for a small fee of EUR 2. Walking sticks were only allowed in the castle gardens with rubber buffers to ensure the safety of all participants.
Running routes and categories
The various running and walking routes are designed so that there is something for everyone. Distances of 2, 5, 10 and 15 kilometers as well as walking distances of 5 and 10 kilometers are offered. Not only does the ambition of the participants flourish, but also the sense of community among the participants.
