New Regiobus lines from December 14th: Improved connections for Ludwigslust!

On November 30, 2025, the Ludwigslust-Parchim transport company (VLP) will once again show itself to be a driving force in regional local transport. From December 14th, it will introduce three new regional bus routes, which will also be active during school holidays and after school. This is an important step to better connect rural regions to cities and ensure reliable mobility for all passengers. According to the SVZ, the new lines, L58, 54 and 735, report interesting routes that give more people the opportunity to reach their destinations.

The new line L58 will be particularly interesting for commuters and travelers. It connects Ludwigslust directly with Dömitz via Eldena and Malliß. Line 54, on the other hand, offers an attractive connection between Hagenow, Wittenburg and Zarrentin. Line 735 runs from Meyenburg via Plau am See to Krakow am See - a great option for trips to the region's beautiful lakes.

Travel times and accessibility

The regional buses run from Monday to Saturday between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. On special days, such as December 24th and 31st, the stops are the same as Saturdays, which is relieving news for many during the holidays. In this way, the VLP ensures that passengers can get to their destination easily even between public holidays.

A central aim of these measures is to improve connectivity in rural areas. The buses run at least every two hours, which is a good choice for both commuters and students. Managing director Stefan Lösel is optimistic about the use of these lines and points to the positive development of line 170 from Schwerin to Sternberg, which was introduced two years ago and which has since been used by 410 passengers every day and has overcome the previously annoying problems of a poor range of journeys.

Changes in regional transport

But something is not only happening in Ludwigslust. In the Potsdam-Mittelmark district there will also be a timetable change on the same day, December 14th, which will particularly affect the regional train lines RE 1 and RB 23. This will result in changes to connection times and even travel times of up to 40 minutes on some roads. The new transport structure is also intended to improve connections to RE 7 trains and introduce adaptable student connections. These measures are part of the goal of creating an attractive and functioning public transport network in the district and optimizing connections between rural areas and urban centers, as those responsible communicate.

The VLP and the partners in the district work hand in hand to make these new buildings and adjustments as smooth as possible for all passengers. It's an exciting time for local transport in northern Germany, and the new lines not only offer new travel options, but also contribute to the quality of life in the region. Further information on the planned changes and timetables can be found on the VLP website and at Regiobus available.
