Oldtimer meeting in Karstädt: Experience nostalgia on two bikes!

Karstädt, Deutschland - In northern Germany there is a flourishing passion for everything that rolls on two bikes-especially when it comes to mopeds and motorcycles of the famous Simson works. On July 6th there will be a very special event in Karstädt near Ludwigslust. The SR Oldie Club invites you to the classic car meeting, and the anticipation among members could not be greater.

The members of the SR Oldie Club are entirely prescribed for the repair, restoration and presentation of iconic vehicles such as Schwalbe, SR 1 and SR 2. Each meeting of the club is an opportunity to give one or the other anecdote for the best when talking down and to go on a classic car tours together. This community passion is not just an employment, but a lively community that also introduces younger people to this fascinating technology.

On Sunday, July 6th, from 10 a.m., a large classic car meeting will take place on the site at the parish hall in Karstädt. Here the guests can marvel at a variety of vehicles, including the popular "chicken fright", the Simson S51 and the legendary swallow. Old cars will also be part of the spectacle. In addition, there will be a partial market that is a real paradise for spare parts.

The Schwalbe, perhaps the best known model of the Simson engines, was introduced in 1964 and was in production until 1986. With her characteristic design and a 50cc engine, she not only captivated nostalgics, but has also become a sought-after collective object. At the meeting in Karstädt, the swallow will certainly play a central role, and many will remember the unforgettable trips of their youth.

The roots of the Simson works go back to 1856 when the company was initially launched as a weapon manufacturer. The production of motorcycles then began in 1927 with model A, which quickly became popular. In the 1950s, the S51 model was developed, which conquered the market, especially in the GDR. It was robust, easy to wait and was also in uneven terrain - properties that made it a loyal companion for many.

The Simson series has always developed over the years. The market launch of the S50 model in the 1960s and the various versions of the S51 from 1980 underpin the cult status of these motorcycles, which were produced until 2002. The innovative technology, including two -stroke engines and electronic ignitions, made these vehicles unique. Many classic car fans appreciate the simple maintenance and the good availability of spare parts, which keeps love for Simson alive in today's times.
