Water shortage? ZKWAL is ready for 70,000 Airbeat participants!

The upcoming Airbeat event next weekend will not only attract music fans, but also cause an increase in water demand. Over 70,000 additional visitors are expected in the region, presenting an exciting challenge for water suppliers. The ZKWAL special purpose association, which already supplies around 26,000 households in the old Ludwigslust district with drinking water, has no concerns about a water shortage.

With two waterworks – one in Neustadt-Glewe and one in Wanzlitz – the association is well positioned. The pure water tanks in particular are well filled and offer a high capacity: 1200 cubic meters each in Wanzlitz and two 900 cubic meters in Neustadt-Glewe. The water is obtained from wells that are between 128 and 136 meters deep in the third aquifer. This ensures the water supply even if the dryness on the surface increases.

Reliable supply even during power outages

Another plus point: the drinking water supply remains secure even during power outages. Emergency generators with a diesel reserve of 1000 liters are available for this purpose. These precautions guarantee that the water supply can be maintained at all times, which is particularly important for large events such as Airbeat.

For the festival, a well in the waterworks will be activated to cover the increased water demand. According to research, organizers typically need around 7,000 cubic meters of water to fill the infrastructure supplied, including a large 1,000 square meter party pool. This water supply is ensured via a permanently installed ring pipe that offers constant water pressure.

The challenges of water supply at major events

The demands on water supply are particularly high at large events. Clean water must always be available in kitchens, bars, showers, toilets and drinking water taps. “Experience and specialist knowledge are crucial,” says an expert. Loud memo media Booster pumps are essential to ensure the correct water pressure and daily quality checks are necessary.

In addition, wastewater disposal must be regulated just as carefully. This used water is stored in special tanks and disposed of via partner companies. This ensures that all legal requirements are adhered to here too.

In general, the preparations for the upcoming events and their water supply are in line with best practices and the exorbitant demands placed on modern festivals. Comprehensive infrastructure management is necessary to be able to carry out such impressive events smoothly, regardless of the weather and the season.
