Drivers and commuters in the Neubrandenburg area should be particularly careful these days. From today, July 1, 2025, important construction work will begin on the State road 35 between Altentreptow and Neddemin. Here the asphalt surface layer on the bridge over the Landgraben is being renewed. The measures last until July 3rd and are part of the company's annual maintenance workNeustrelitz road construction authority. Even if the work is necessary, those responsible ask for increased attention and understanding for the upcoming traffic disruptions.

The construction work was initiated with the aim of sustainably maintaining the infrastructure in the region. During this time, traffic in the construction site area will only be routed on one side. Commuters and residents are well advised to prepare for possible delays and consider alternative routes if necessary.

Construction projects in the region

But it's not just the L35 that's currently being worked on. Also on the State road 27 Work is due on July 4, 2025. Here the asphalt surface layer on the bridge over the Malliner Wasser, also in the Mecklenburg Lake District, is being renewed. Due to the necessary measures, the L27 will be closed in this area to ensure the safety of workers and road users. A diversion will be signposted via Chemnitz and Neubrandenburg.

It is crucial for those maintaining these roads that the infrastructure is regularly maintained to ensure safety for all road users. This is part of the comprehensive annual maintenance and repair work required on both state and federal highways.

Extensive road maintenance measures

The Neustrelitz Road Construction Authority is planning extensive maintenance measures overall, in which around 2,000 kilometers of roads and cycle paths in the Mecklenburg Lake District and Western Pomerania Greifswald districts will be tackled by the end of October 2025. The total costs for these measures amount to around 5.5 million euros.

  • Bituminöses Verschließen von Fahrbahnrissen
  • Sanierung von Mittelnahtbereichen
  • Erneuerung schadhafter Fahrbahnoberflächen
  • Regulierung von Banketten
  • Nachprofilierung von Gräben
  • Fahrbahnmarkierungen

These measures were mostly taken at times when there was less traffic in order to minimize disruption. During construction work, it is also important to point out the possible risk of slipping caused by gravel, especially for motorcyclists.

Commuters and road users are requested to observe the required diversions and instructions from the responsible authorities and to prepare for temporary restrictions while the work is carried out progressively. Safety and functionality ultimately guarantee safe driving on our roads.
