This has clear advantages: payments are possible without a smartphone or wallet. The chip can also be used at automatic ticket machines. The possible uses are diverse and offer a modern, convenient approach to everyday transactions. The technology also supports connection with credit cards and smartphone apps, with the first partners being Mastercard and Cembra Bank. From autumn onwards, the offer will be further expanded in collaboration with around 30 nail salons, where the chip will be applied for a price of 10 to 20 francs. Payment is similar to a credit card: you simply hold your finger on the reader. Despite these convenient features, there are concerns about acceptance, especially among men who would have to visit the nail salon regularly.
