Fifth studio by the lake: music festival with stars and youth band in Neubrandenburg!
The Studio-Am-See Festival in Neubrandenburg is in the starting blocks and is celebrating its fifth edition this year. On September 26th and 27th, 2025, the old industrial hall at Tollensesee will be transformed into a center for music and culture that offers special highlights for young people. The festival aims to attract exceptional live music and rarely performed bands to the region, thereby bringing a breath of fresh air to the local cultural scene.
Things get particularly exciting on Friday when the teen disco starts and the Neubrandenburg youth band “June” celebrates their debut. The four talented students regularly rehearse at the music school and are ready to conquer the stage. The disco for young people aged 12 and over takes place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and requires parental consent. Here young visitors can celebrate and have fun. But that's not all the festival offers. On Saturday, visitors will be treated to a performance by the indie pop band “Die Höchste Eisenbahn” from Berlin, which is known for its rousing sound.
A colorful program
The festival offers a varied program: in addition to the teen disco, the electronic night, a photo show and live painting are on the agenda. A painter will capture the lively festival atmosphere in a picture while the audience can watch. This exciting mix of music and art creates a unique atmosphere that appeals to both young and young-at-heart visitors.
The event is organized by a dedicated association of volunteers who ensure that everything runs smoothly. “We want to bring music for young people to the region and are counting on some rare bands,” said a member of the organizing team. Ticket sales have long since started and tickets can be purchased both at HKB and online, with the early bird price valid until July 31st. In the past, well-known acts such as Selig, Die Sternen and Nils Frevert have been welcomed to the festival. The number of visitors was up to 600, which impressively underlines the enthusiasm for the event.
Support for the festival scene
But the Studio-Am-See Festival is not just a highlight in the regional cultural calendar. It also benefits from broad support at the political level. The Music Initiative's festival funding fund, for example, supports festivals with up to 50,000 euros. A total of 127 festivals in Germany are supported by the fund, with a focus on non-urban regions. This funding is an important step towards strengthening cultural diversity and sustainability in the festival scene. Even new festivals were able to receive funding approval for the first time, which shows that exciting developments are taking place in the German festival landscape.
This year's event in the Mecklenburg Lake District promises not only an entertaining program, but also a platform for local artists and increased visibility for young talent. Mark the dates September 26th and 27th in your calendar and let yourself be inspired by the music culture of Neubrandenburg!
