The sun is beaming, the air is fulfilled by anticipation and music - on June 20th there will be a big celebration in Neubrandenburg on Brodaer Strand! The popular event will take place for the seventh time this year under the motto "Neubrandenburg Picnick". When the gates open at 6 p.m., between 500 and 700 guests are expected to celebrate the start of the calendar and the summer solstice. The highlight of the evening? The beautiful sunset at the Tollensesee, which will be admired around 9:40 p.m.
Visitors can look forward to a colorful program: The fragrance of freshly prepared sausages and stick cake will be in the air, while fire shells romantically shed light on the atmosphere. The bouncy castle is new for the little guests this year, which certainly provides a lot of joy. Ice is also offered from Wulkenzin - a highlight for all sweet tooth!
commitment to the community
The event is carried out by the Neubrandenburg community foundation, which was founded in April 2017 by 87 members. Their goal is to strengthen the civic engagement in the region and motivate people to help shape their environment. The “Neubrandenburg Picknick” project is a matter close to the heart of the citizens themselves and is very popular - not least thanks to the active support of over 50 volunteers.

This remains free of charge, even if donations are welcome to support the organization. The Aloha BeachBar provides guests who do not have a picnic basket with refreshing drinks, while around the event, financial resources are also raised for around 9 non -profit associations that can present their projects.

The continuously growing number of participants is particularly impressive: from 99 guests in 2018 to over 200 the following year, up to 850 in 2023-the event has developed into a real insider tip. For 2024, one even hopes for around 1,000 participants. This illustrates the increasing desire for community and kind together, a thought that can also be taken up again and again in the broad discussion about civic engagement, as can be taken up again and again.The event on June 20 will not only be a festival for the senses, but also a sign of cohesion in the Neubrandenburg region.
