SC Neubrandenburg now runs a new bus – a win for sport!
In Neubrandenburg there is reason to be happy for the athletes of SC Neubrandenburg: The club was given a new minibus today, which will significantly improve the mobility of the athletes. The vehicle was financed by the PS lottery from Sparkasse Neubrandenburg-Demmin, which this year provided an impressive 140,000 euros for local projects, which also include cultural institutions. This was reported by the Northern Courier.
The ceremonial handover of the bus took place directly on the SCN canoeists' training area. Among the prominent guests were CEO Peter Siebken, Mayor Nico Klose, SCN boss Frank Benischke and managing director Peter Waitschies. “The purchase of the bus helps us enormously, because it is often difficult to rent a minibus for a weekend,” emphasized Frank Benischke at the handover. With around 1,600 members, SC Neubrandenburg is one of the largest sports clubs in the region and is involved in disciplines such as athletics, canoeing and triathlon.
Support from local credit institutions
Mayor Klose also emphasized the importance of the support from local credit institutions and described his first visit to SC Neubrandenburg as pleasant. He sees the funding made possible by the sale of PS tickets as an important building block for strengthening regional clubs and institutions.
The financing of the bus is part of a program based on the concept of the PS lottery. Sparkasse customers can purchase PS tickets, with part of the proceeds being used for regional donation projects. During the handover it became clear how closely sport and community are connected in Neubrandenburg.
For the SC Neubrandenburg athletes, the new bus not only provides practical support, but also a boost for team spirit. The minibus will be a great help, especially at competitions all over Germany, in order to easily master the upcoming challenges.
The Sparkasse has demonstrated a proverbial “good hand” with this investment, which will sustainably enrich the sporting landscape in northern Germany. If you would like to find out more about the background and the PS lottery, you can find further information on the website City administration.
