Summertime in Neubrandenburg is always a time for rhythmic movements and lively dances. On June 21, 2025, the annual summer dance gala took place in the Hanseatic City of Culture House (HKB). The event attracted numerous interested parties - parents, grandparents and friends flocked to admire the impressive performances of over 150 dancers. Under the theme “Colors of Life”, the gala reflected the different facets of life and showcased impressive dance styles such as children's dance, folklore, historical and contemporary dance as well as dance theater pieces. The event was organized by the event center Neubrandenburg GmbH and took place at 3:00 p.m., with the many different dance groups enlivening the stage.
An emotional experience
The moderation was taken over by Maia Schiwek, Jürgen Sill and Mia Marie Heyden, who led through the program. Before the gala, the young dancers had a bit of stage fright during the dress rehearsal, but they had practiced very intensively beforehand. The audience's emotional reactions at the end of the performance demonstrated how touching and heartwarming the performances were.
The imaginative costumes included red dresses and black and white outfits. The smallest dancers wore white tights and had their hair tied in pretty buns, which gave the overall look a particularly magical touch. The tension of the dress rehearsal finally gave way to enthusiastic applause from the audience, a moment that will remain unforgettable for many participants.
A look into the future
Particularly noteworthy is Maia Schiwek, who will begin training at a renowned dance school in Hamburg. Through her outstanding commitment, she has earned the opportunity to pursue her passion for dancing professionally. Even though the dancers are active in different groups with a training rhythm of once to three times a week, their common goal is to constantly improve and learn new things.
The impressive performances at the summer dance gala were not only proof of the talent of the young dancers, but also underlined the lively dance scene in Neubrandenburg.
