Neubrandenburg becomes a music metropolis: Fête de la Musique inspires!

The wait is over: Neubrandenburg will celebrate the Fête de la Musique for the first time on June 21, 2025. As NDR reports, this event falls in the year of the city's 777th anniversary, which makes the celebration even more special. On this day, the city center is transformed into a large stage where a diverse music program is offered from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The Fête de la Musique originated in Paris in 1982, from where it has developed into an international music festival. Over 1,000 cities worldwide are taking part, including around 140 locations in Germany. In the Haff-Müritz region, in addition to Neubrandenburg, Malchin, Neustrelitz and Waren are also taking part, as Kultur MV also informs.

A colorful stage program

A total of 32 acts have been announced in Neubrandenburg, covering a wide range of genres - from classical to rap to performances by a men's choir. The musicians perform on five different stages that have been set up specifically for this festival in the city center. Here, visitors can look forward not only to local talent, but also to a colorful supporting program with related performances that has something for every taste.

In addition, you can look forward to numerous culinary delights that invite you to linger and enjoy. The closing ceremony takes place in the Open Mill, which rounds off the day in a fitting way. There will also be celebrations in Neustrelitz from 4 p.m.: Choirs, soloists, bands and dancers are scheduled to take place in various locations around Schloßstrasse and the castle gardens, rounding off the musical experience.
