Ballet premiere Time to Love: drama and dance experience in Parchim!
Things are going well in Parchim, because there is huge anticipation for the premiere of the ballet “Time to Love” on July 5th. The Schwerin ballet company is bringing something very special to the stage with this performance - its first appearance outside of the state capital Schwerin. As nordkurier.de reports, the premiere in the Kulturmühle will start at 7:30 p.m. and the tickets are already completely sold out. However, dance fans can look forward to further performances on July 12th and 13th, which still have space.
The atmosphere behind the scenes is intense. Ballet director Jonathan dos Santos explained that the dancers generally do not speak during the performance, which further highlights the emotional depth of their performance. This makes the technical preparations, which include a sound check and adjusting the volume, all the more important. A sprung floor ensures the safety of the dancers, as the stage conditions in Parchim pose some challenges.
A ballet that explores affection and contradictions
“Time to Love” consists of two exciting parts that address the different facets of love. The choreographies come from Ilya Vidrin and Lucia Giarratana, whose styles complement each other wonderfully. Vidrin's piece "With or Without" looks at the unspoken feelings, while Giarratana's "Omnia Vincit Amor" portrays love as a transformative force. These two works oscillate between silence and expression, between memory and the present, as wasgehtapp.de describes.
Viewers can look forward to a profound exploration of intimacy, distance and passionate contradictions. In three chapters, Giarratana addresses love in the context of death, reason and passion, with the body serving as a repository of emotional experiences. The ballet is also musically accompanied by chamber music works by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy as well as texts by Rainer Maria Rilke, Gertrud Kolmar and Friedrich Schiller.
A path full of expectations and surprises
What audiences can expect in the upcoming performances is a combination of careful choreographic design and emotional presentation - all under the guidance of the talented dancers and creative voices behind the project. Rehearsals have been underway since January and despite the intensive preparations, the mood is optimistic and happy.
The response to the upcoming premiere shows that the ballet hits a nerve. If you couldn't get a place in time, don't despair - the additional performances offer a second chance to enjoy this unique ballet experience in Parchim. And even if the first premiere is sold out, we can only hope that the art of dance will continue to be popular in the region. Stay curious and attend this fascinating event!
