Fortuna Neubrandenburg on course for a championship with a strong away win!
An exciting day for the A-junior handball players of SV Fortuna 50 Neubrandenburg! With an impressive 37:26 away win against JSG Fredenbeck/Stade/Harsefeld, the young talents have now catapulted themselves onto the course for the championship round. Northern Courier reports that with this triumph, Fortuna swaps place in the table with their opponents and is now in third place, which secures their participation in the championship round.
Coach Kay Butzlaff can be pleased with his team's performance. The young women not only showed a confident playful appearance, but also impressive numerical strength in attack. Many players got on the scoresheet – a clear sign of the team dynamics and mutual support. The goalkeeper Emma Skierke and the strong defense were crucial to this success.
Dominant start and strong performance
Fortuna impressively demonstrated their dominance in the early stages of the game when they took a 3-0 lead after just three minutes. After a quarter of an hour it was already 11:5. The interim result at halftime of 21:12 clearly showed that the Neubrandenburgers were on the right track. Even though Fredenbeck's top thrower Inja Motzkus scored twelve goals at the end of the game, she was unable to have a decisive influence on the Fortunes' superior performance.
In the second round, the Fortuna girls remained in control, despite the man-marking that the Fredenbecker Girls introduced in order to disrupt the flow of the game in Fortuna's strategy. This shows that the Neubrandenburgers have the right feeling for pressure situations and know how to play their way forward.
