New digital opportunities: Electrical trainees start their careers!
A sensational welcoming event for 55 fresh trainees in the electrical trade recently took place in the heart of northern Germany. Christian Jessel, the head master of the Ludwigslust-Hagenow electrical guild, warmly welcomed the new apprentices from Schwerin, Northwest Mecklenburg, Ludwigslust, Hagenow, Parchim and Güstrow. This event was organized by the Schwerin Chamber of Crafts and represented an exciting start for the young talents who are now embarking on their path into the digital future of the industry.
This first official joint welcome by the electrical guilds ensured a lively exchange between the trainees, their parents and trainers. Those present, including representatives of the examination board and vocational schools, informed the newcomers about important contacts and accompanying information about the training. A company manager made it clear that apprentices are a valuable asset to the company, but also need guidance and time to develop their skills.
Focus on digital training
At a time when digitalization is becoming increasingly important, the electrical guilds rely on modern solutions to support their trainees. Every apprentice now has access to the innovative functions of the e-zubis app, which replaces the traditional report book. This app enables efficient digital documentation of the training content and simplifies monthly reports on regularly carried out activities.
Training in the electrical trade is diverse and includes five disciplines, including electronics technician for building system integration and energy and building technology. This gives apprentices numerous opportunities to start an exciting career in a professional field that is safe and popular. In total, the industry already employs 520,000 people, which underlines the demand for qualified specialists. In this dynamic industry, lateral entry is actually desirable, which opens up new perspectives for many interested parties.
Diversity of career opportunities
It's not just the training to become an electronics technician that has a promising future. Professions such as information technology master, which can be learned since 2021, also show that the sector is continuously developing. Topics such as building automation and smart living are now an integral part of training and offer trainees modern access to the challenges of the energy transition and digitalization.
Elektrohandwerk.de emphasizes that by entering the e-trade, self-employment can also be achieved with comparatively little capital. In addition, the compatibility of family and work is cited as a further advantage, especially in rural areas, where this job often offers a stable source of income. The future skilled workers can look forward to a secure professional field that offers many development opportunities and career paths in industry.
Given these exciting changes in the skilled trades, the industry has great opportunities to revolutionize everyday training through digital innovations. The good old dual training remains a prime example of successful vocational training in Germany. One thing is certain: investments in training and new technologies not only create new job profiles, but also make traditional jobs fit for the future.
