Parchim is upgrading: new parking machines with card payment are coming!
Parchim mobilizes and brings a breath of fresh air to the city's park landscape. From now on, drivers can look forward to a modernized payment method at selected parking machines. Parchim has initiated the conversion to card payment. The new machines will be installed at strategically important points such as Moltkeplatz, Ziegenmarkt and Marstall. However, an exact date for installation is still pending as delivery times and technical issues need to be clarified nordkurier.de reported.
The city is taking another step into the digital future with the introduction of cell phone parking. Smartphone users can now conveniently purchase their parking permit via the app. The Parkster app, which is available to download free of charge for Android and iPhone, not only allows you to enter license plates and parking time, but also offers practical functions such as extending the parking time. This saves drivers the stress of having to rush back to the vehicle to avoid further fees. The ever-popular “bun button” remains available for all parking machines! This means drivers can park for free for up to half an hour, whether with or without a cell phone.
But don't worry - if you prefer the classic route, you can still insert change into the machine to secure your parking ticket. The option of paying in cash remains an integral part of the system. In Parchim, cash payments at the ATMs will continue to exist and will process all the information we provide parchim.de can read.
Not to be forgotten are the designated paid parking areas, which are spread across the entire city. These include, among others, Moltkeplatz, Ziegenmarkt, Apothekerstraße, Schwertstraße, Marstall, Neuer Markt, Alter Markt and Lindenstraße. The “bun button” for the first 30 minutes can also be used in the app, so that users can fully enjoy the advantages of digitalization. After the free parking period has expired, the first 60 minutes are available for just 1 euro.
Parchim takes modernization seriously and shows a good knack for promoting the mobility of citizens while at the same time meeting the needs of drivers. Whether with cash, card or app – the future of parking in Parchim has begun!
