Rostock leads the quality of life ranking in MV - these are the results!
In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the quality of life is lively discussed, and the latest surveys ensure a breath of fresh air. A detailed residents' survey that took place between May 23 and June 22 has now drawn the image of living conditions in the region. In total, those responsible counted 16,664 participants, including 15,183 from the focus region. As nordkurier.de reports, the city of Rostock is best off on the scale of 10.
In the other places, Nordwestmecklenburg can be found with 7.17 and Vorpommern-Rügen with 7.16 points. In total, the survey resulted in a total average of 6.95 for the quality of life, with some concerns of the population being uncovered. Among these are the shortage of doctors, the insufficient shopping facilities and the dangers for cyclists who put a strain on the well -being of the citizens.
The best and worst categories
The evaluation illuminates where there is good and where there is still room for improvement. The region received a 7.42 when it comes to cleanliness, and the areas of leisure and animal also got away well with 6.96 points. However, the below -average categories, such as health care with only 4.82 and the gastronomy with 4.59 points, testify to considerable need for improvement. The city of Rostock also triumphed in a different ranking, which ended up in first place with 6.35 points, followed by Schwerin and Uckermark, both at only 6.17 points.
An exciting aspect of the survey is gender distribution: 57 percent of the participants were female, and more than half was married. In addition to the general quality of life, 15 categories were also evaluated, which give insights into the citizens' realities of life. The results thus offer a comprehensive overview of the current life situation in the region.
European comparison and citizen dialogue
But that's not all. Rostock has also actively participated in a European opinion survey, which surveyed more than 70,000 people in 83 cities in 36 countries. Here the city seems to cut off well: Rathaus.rostock.de emphasizes that Rostock has been part of the European cities comparison "Urban Audit", which is coordinated by Eurostat Data on the quality of life collected in over 800 cities. This shows that Rostock is analyzed not only at local, but also at an international level.
A look at other current initiatives shows that the federal government is also actively addressing life quality. As part of a citizen dialogue, the population was asked about quality of life. An indicator system was developed through the results, which is now to serve as a yardstick for politics in Germany. This confirms the trend that the quality of life of the citizens increasingly focuses on and whose needs lead political action. You can find more about this on buergerdialog.gut-leben-in-Deutschland.de.
How these developments will affect Rostock and the surrounding area remains exciting. However, it is clear that the voices of the citizens do not remain unheard and the city has already taken a few steps on the way to a higher quality of life.
