Beethoven's Sounds in Altwarp: Free concert on Sunday!

On June 29th, the tranquil church in Altwarp will be the venue for a special concert by the Collegium for Early Music Western Pomerania. As part of the popular “DorfKircheKlingt” series, a historic fortepiano from 1795, built by Anton Walker, will be used. A real treat for music lovers, the concert promises not only impressive musical performances, but also a lively presentation of new sound worlds that will transport listeners.

The ensemble is supported by well-known musicians: Friedemann Braun, the accompanist of the Staatskapelle Schwerin, will perform together with the star violinist Claudia Mende and the cellist Gertrud Ohse. Together they will interpret works by the famous composer Ludwig van Beethoven. The program includes, among other things, excerpts from the famous Piano Sonata Number 14 Opus 27 in C sharp minor, better known as the Moonlight Sonata. Beethoven's piano trios, known for their wit and virtuosity, will also be heard.

A journey into Beethoven's world

A highlight of the concert will be the interactive presentation of Beethoven's life, supplemented by anecdotes and quotes that give listeners a personal insight into the composer's thoughts and experiences. The concert starts at 4 p.m., and the best thing about it: admission is free! So this event is not only a musical experience, but also a great opportunity for everyone interested in classical music.

For those working in culture in the region, this concert is part of a larger context. Next year, 2024, the German-Polish Cultural Summer will take place, which will offer numerous cultural events in the Uecker-Randow border region and around Stettin from May to September. The aim is to unite artists from both countries and draw attention to the region's cultural treasures. Venues include romantic village churches and impressive buildings in the Baroque style.

Experience cultural diversity

The diverse formats and events that emerge from existing concert series and initiatives impressively show how rich the region's cultural offerings are. The early music festivals that take place regularly in Germany also contribute to cultural diversity. These events often focus on specific eras or personalities and stand out due to their international aspects and thematic focus.

So if you have the opportunity to attend the concert on June 29th in Altwarp, you should mark this date in red on your calendar.
