Eintracht Loitz thrilled: 4-2 win secures district cup round two!
Eintracht Loitz made an excellent start to the new football season last weekend. The team from the district upper league was able to prevail in the first round of the 2025/26 district cup with a 4:2 (0:0) against the district league team Grün-Weiß Nadrensee. How Northern Courier reported, the game was anything but a dry affair for Loitz. After a goalless first half, coach Maik Milkowski's team initially had to accept a deficit.
In the 13th minute, the hosts surprisingly took a 1-0 lead through Bartosz Kowalski. But Eintracht Loitz proved once again that they have a strong fighting spirit. The team impressively turned the game around within just 14 minutes. Jo Baumann, Konrad Larsen and Torben Steinfurth ensured a quick turnaround, so that at the break it was only 2:3 for Nadrensee after a goalkeeping error gave the hosts another goal.
A hard-fought game
The second half was exciting again. After Coach Milkowski was injured, Hans Henrik Rossow had to help out in goal. The game remained close until the last minute, until Baumann increased the score to 4-2 with his second goal in the 90th minute. Coach Milkowski was satisfied with his team's performance after the game and is optimistic about the next round, in which they will meet Pommern Pasewalk. The next game will take place on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Pasewalk sports field.
In addition to Loitz, other teams were able to score points in the first round of the district cup. In particular, Blau-Weiß 21 Jarmen clearly won 4-0 against the second team from Pasewalker FV, a success that proves the strength of the team. Jarmen showed in the first round of the district cup that they, like Loitz, are strong challengers News.net reported.
Traditional football feeling
The first round of the district cup was a real attraction for the region's football fans. Over 1,500 spectators watched the games of the 32 participating teams. The audience response illustrates the importance of football in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district, where the game has a long tradition and sports facilities are often considered central places for social exchange.
The district cup also promises exciting encounters in the future, because the winners of this first round now have the opportunity to further prove themselves. Among the other results, the games of strong teams stand out, including SV Rollwitz, who surprisingly won against Eintracht Zinnowitz, and SV Loitzer Eintracht, who shone in the semi-finals and are now working towards the final. How NDR reported, the final of the Vorpommern-Greifswald district cup will take place on June 14th.
The coming weeks will be exciting as the teams continue to fight for the title. Eintracht Loitz has clearly proven that they want to accept this challenge and tackle the next round with fighting spirit and team spirit.
