A serious traffic accident caused an uproar in Neubrandenburg on Saturday afternoon. There was a collision between two vehicles on Demminer Straße, in the Eschengrund intersection area. Fortunately, there was only material damage and the occupants remained uninjured Northern Courier reported.
The cause of the accident was a misunderstanding of the right of way. A 35-year-old car driver wanted to drive onto Demminer Straße, but overlooked a 43-year-old man who was driving his van. The collision in the intersection area caused significant property damage, which the police estimate at around 15,000 euros. As a result, the area had to be temporarily closed to record the accident and clear the vehicles.
Closures and diversions
The closure led to diversions and minor traffic delays in the area. Motorists were urged to be patient and use alternative routes. While this may have been annoying for some, one can always hope that such accidents do not occur more often and that those affected will be more careful when traveling.
