Ueckermünde motocrossers celebrate record season: Who will win in 2026?
What a spectacle! Last weekend the MC Ueckermünde's traditional cross-country event took place, an event that brought together the region's motorsport enthusiasts. More than 60 active drivers, accompanied by numerous spectators and amateur photographers, take the opportunity to do their laps on a well-prepared track before the winter break. Sports director Danilo Lange emphasized how important such events are for the club and its members in order not to lose sight of motorsport fun before the winter break.
This 59th edition of the Ueckermünde Motocross in September 2023 will certainly be remembered fondly by the participants for a long time. According to nordkurier.de there were only a few small accidents, which spoke of the usual exciting but safe racing. Club boss Stefan Beuckmann thanked the sponsors, without whose support such large events would not be possible.
A look at the winners
Particularly noteworthy is local hero Ole Schmidt, who triumphed in the coveted 450cc class (MX1). But that's not all: Ole also secured second place in the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania MX1 state championship and also delivered with his team at the cross finals in Westerhausen - he also took second place. A really impressive performance!
Another young rider, Finn Lange, once again proved his talent and finished the German 125cc Championship in third place overall. The driver of the ADAC MX Masters/Juniorcup 125ccm was even rewarded with fourth place as the best German. Finn Lange also showed outstanding performances at the opening event of the ADAC MX Masters in Fürstlich Drehna, where he took second place, followed by a race win in Mölln. Both talents plan to ride for as long as possible, as long as the weather permits.
The look into the future
Looking to the future, initial plans are already being made for the 60th motocross event in September 2026. The club has applied to host races for the German Championship, and a decision on this is expected later this year. So it remains exciting to see what the coming months have in store for the motocross community in Ueckermünde.
If you want to see the best race tracks and events, you should also take a look at Wallkill, New York. Walden Motocross was founded there by George Popp Jr. and Joe Weeden more than five decades ago. This facility is now one of the few that can host races on two tracks at the same time. Although not the main focus of this post, it is worth noting that this facility is constantly improving and had one of the first online appearances in the motocross world, as mxwalden.com informs.
Overall, last season was a complete success for MC Ueckermünde, and the drivers are well prepared for the next challenges. Let’s stay excited about what’s to come – the passion for motocross is definitely alive in Ueckermünde!
