Heiko März returns: Supervisory board meeting at FC Hansa Rostock!

A lot is happening at Hansa Rostock. The general meeting of FC Hansa Rostock will take place on November 23rd, and the focus is clearly on the election of the new supervisory board. The well-known club with around 30,000 members is looking forward to some positive developments, particularly in the areas of marketing, ticket sales and membership numbers, which will be presented at the meeting. But as with every big club, there are controversial voices here too.

One of the most striking candidacies is that of former player Heiko März. NDR reports that he played an incredible 344 competitive games for Hansa between 1983 and 1998, including in the Bundesliga. After his active career, März was involved in the club's marketing, but three years ago he parted ways after differences with the CEO. Now he would like to be actively involved again as a member of the supervisory board.

A return with challenges

Heiko März is perceived as a potential source of trouble, especially by parts of the ultra scene who view his controversial nature with skepticism. Nevertheless, März sees this characteristic as his strength and hopes to bring a breath of fresh air into the club with his candidacy. On the other hand, the current chairman, Sebastian Eggert, who has been in office for a year and recently stood out for his close relationship with the Ultra fan scene, is also running. While Eggert receives support from his supporters, there are also critics who accuse him of a lack of competence and absence, including the former person in charge Kai-Uwe Theede.

The election also sparked a lot of interest. The election committee of the third division club has named a total of 16 candidates who are applying for places on the new supervisory board. In addition to Eggert, the current members also include Mario Hänsel, Anne Schäfer, Jean Diews, Sven Moschner, Martin Ohde and Axel Giere. The mix of experienced and new faces who are entering the race as new candidates is likeable, including Horst Podßun, Christoph Bauch and Ulf Bodenstein, to name just a few. Bild informs also that all candidates were able to introduce themselves to the members on October 29th.

A look forward

Although there are different opinions on the leadership surrounding Hansa Rostock, the latest developments show that the club is on a positive course. Members have been called upon in the past to actively participate in the decision, and this shows that the club's management takes the grassroots seriously. NDR and Picture report an exciting meeting that could be decisive for the future of the club.
