New supervisory board at Hansa Rostock – these faces shape the future!

FC Hansa Rostock elected a new supervisory board on Sunday, November 23, 2025 in the Rostock town hall. Around 1000 members gathered to take part in this important decision. The new supervisory board, which will remain in office for the next four years, is led by Sebastian Eggert, who has been on the board for almost a decade. Prof. Mario Hensel was elected as deputy chair, while Anne Schäfer will support the association's legal expertise as second deputy chair.

Framed by experienced personalities, the team also includes Axel Giere, a veteran of FC Hansa's youth team, Sven Moschner, who brings in his IT expertise, Martin Ohde, who keeps an eye on financial matters, and Jean Diews, who, as a long-time member, values structure. At this harmonious general meeting, the current supervisory board was confirmed with a large majority, despite the rivalry of 14 candidates standing for election. Heiko März, the Hansa legend and former Bundesliga professional, did not receive the necessary majority vote.

New membership record

Good news for the association: Hansa Rostock now has over 30,000 members, which corresponds to a considerable increase of more than 2,500 within one year. This makes the Kogge one of the 20 clubs with the most members in Germany. New members flocked to the club, particularly through the football school's offerings and the popular Bagaluten gang. These increases are not only a sign of the club's popularity, but also evidence of the positive trend in German football as a whole. According to the German Football Association, more than 7.7 million people are now organized in football clubs, which corresponds to an increase of 4.7 percent.

Financial successes

But it wasn't just the membership numbers that caused a stir. The financial balance of the 2024/25 season is also pleasing, with a positive net result of 13,000 euros, despite investments in new floodlight masts. Total revenue amounts to 38.7 million euros, an increase of more than 6 million compared to previous forecasts. Ticketing in particular, with over 13,500 season tickets sold, as well as merchandising, which includes over 40,000 jerseys sold, make a significant contribution to this income.

The club expects further positive developments in the coming season: Plans are already underway to increase sales in merchandising to 8 million euros and in sponsorship to 11.125 million euros. The current average attendance of almost 24,500 per game exceeds expectations by almost 2,000 fans.

The important decisions and developments at FC Hansa Rostock impressively show that the club is setting the right course for a successful future not only on the pitch, but also in the background. Strong teamwork and clearly defined roles in the new supervisory board could be the tipping point that takes Hansa Rostock to new heights.
