Rostock is planning a new sports hall: revolution for volleyball and more!

In Rostock, more precisely in the Marienehe district, plans for a brand new training and competition hall are on the agenda. This hall will replace the Fiete Reder Hall built in the 1930s. The old hall is struggling with a number of problems: the basement is under water and there are questions about the heating function. New building with modern standards

The new building of the Fiete-Reder-Halle will have some contemporary features: A grandstand with space for 2,000 spectators is planned as well as separate entrances for the audience and the athletes to guarantee smooth running. The playing area will cover approximately 3000 m² and will be equipped with a modern sports surface, lighting and scoreboards. A separate training hall with a field is also included in the concept. To ensure that competition operations do not come to a standstill during the construction phase, the existing hall will initially remain next to the new hall and will be demolished after completion. Costs and financing

The estimated costs for the construction of new sports halls can vary greatly: in terms of construction, it can be expected to cost between around 950,000 euros and up to several million euros, depending on the construction and equipment.
