Traditional regatta: Haikutter head for the Hanse Sail!

A maritime highlight is imminent: The Haikutter regatta, which takes place every year in front of the Hanse Sail, brings a lot of momentum into the old sails again this year. Strictly speaking, this traditional event will take place in August when the historic Haikutter from Nysted to Rostock set off. Longly expected, the starting signal for the regatta is on August 6, 2025.

This year six magnificent haikutter will take part in the regatta, including the well -known "Hansine", a real piece of jewelry in the museum port Lübeck. The impressive ship has a long history, since it was reconstructed by Markus Köhler and a partner over 20 years ago. The purchase took place for just a symbolic euro in Denmark, which makes the "Hansine" one of the largest and fastest haikutter - a ship with a proud age of 125 years and a length of 25 meters!

The historical charm of the Haikutter

Anyone who wonders what is special about the haikuters will quickly find what they are looking for: these Danish fishing ships were in action around 1900 and once belonged to the Danish fleet like the famous hopes of the fishermen. Of more than 6,500 haikuters, only 25 are in driving today. As one of the first ships with a drive machine, the "Hansine" in 1898 contributed to the modernization of the maritime industry.

The regatta traditionally starts on August 6, 2025 and lasts about six hours. The spectacle is accompanied by the ships Landrath Küster and Sarpen, which also offer places for fellow sailors. This is a great opportunity for everyone who wants to experience the adventure on the water up close.

The anticipation for the Hanse Sail

It also becomes particularly exciting around the Hanse Sail, which takes place in Rostock from August 7th to 10th, 2025. Hanse Sail is one of the largest meetings of traditional sailing and museum ships worldwide. Visitors can admire about 200 ships here, including cruise ships, ferries and naval ships, while there is a hustle and bustle with market stalls and rides in the country. The event attracts around one million visitors every year and offers a diverse program with forums, conferences and a popular fireworks on Saturday evening.

For all those who want to experience the mood on the Danish Haikutter, there is the opportunity to book the crossing to the regatta with the Belle Amie on August 8th. In addition, accompanying trips to the regatta are also possible. Adults can expect prices from 305 euros per person, while children between 6 and 14 years can ride for 285 euros.

The anticipation for the Hanse Sail grows. If you are interested in the events or want to reserve a place on the regatta ships, the website Hansesail.com is recommended.

The friendly staff are available for further questions in the Hanse Sail office at 0381 38129 74 and 0381 38129 75. There are also consultations on the Warnowufer 65 to find the best place for an unforgettable maritime experience.

The Hanse Sail and the Haikutter regatta offer a fabulous opportunity to deepen the maritime tradition of northern Germany and experience the beauty of the old ships up close. So, vote - and on the water!
