Aggressive passenger causes train chaos – police arrived in Pasewalk!

On November 13, 2025, a serious incident occurred in a regional express from Berlin to Stralsund that caused excitement among travelers. The emergency control center of Deutsche Bahn AG alerted the federal police because of an aggressive couple on the train who had already alerted several attentive passengers.

A 30-year-old German briefly left the regional express 3304 at Prenzlau station, only to get back on again a short time later. Apparently he then blocked the door of the train, which significantly delayed its onward journey. A customer service representative who wanted to intervene spoke to him, but this was not without consequences: the man reacted aggressively and approached the woman in a threatening manner while raising his fist. She saw no other way out than to flee into the service compartment and close the door behind her.

Arrest by the Federal Police

After the man tried in vain to open the door to the service compartment, he went into the train toilet in a visibly rude manner. The couple finally left the train at Pasewalk station, where the federal police, who had already been alerted, were waiting for them. A check revealed that the accused not only had various entries in his criminal record, but also had a breath alcohol level of 2.48 per mille. However, he appeared disoriented, which confused the officers.

A search yielded no relevant findings. Nevertheless, a complaint was filed for coercion, threats, bodily harm (attempt) and obtaining benefits by fraud. Such incidents show how quickly unrest can occur on public transport and how important a quick response from the authorities is.

Similar incidents

A look at similar incidents shows that aggression does not only occur on the regional express. A 36-year-old man recently led to a police operation on an ICE train from Berlin to Munich because he was driving without a ticket and insulting a young woman with obscene language. He was arrested in Bitterfeld after he also tried to force the woman out of her seat. Witnesses reported his threatening behavior, causing the train to be delayed by 24 minutes. In both cases, the aggressive passengers required intervention from the train operators and the police in order to defuse the situation.

Such incidents make it clear how important it is to feel safe as a passenger. Train travel should be relaxing and safe, and the use of police is often essential to maintain order on trains. The Federal Police remains concerned about the safety of travelers and will act accordingly if such threatening situations develop.
