Severe storms threaten: heavy rain and thunderstorms in MV!

The start of the week in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania presents itself from its uncomfortable side. According to the latest reports from Wismar.fm Heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected, especially on Monday. The German Weather Service (DWD) is already issuing a severe weather warning and reports that heavy rainfall will reach the region from the south and west.

In the afternoon, local thunderstorms could develop, especially in the east, bringing not only heavy rain but also squalls and hail. This is anything but ideal for outdoor activities, as the temperatures remain at a pleasant 23 to 26 degrees despite the threat of storms, and on the coast even between 21 and 24 degrees. The wind will be light to moderate and blowing in bows.

Danger of storms and temperatures

The weather situation remains tense in the evening hours - on Tuesday night the rain doesn't just pass, but brings with it some heavy rainfall. Temperatures drop to a bearable 17 to 15 degrees. On Tuesday itself it will remain changeable with showers and thunderstorms, which can also be accompanied by heavy rain at times. The daily highs are again between 20 and 23 degrees, while the wind blows moderately to freshly and increases in strength in arcs.

But that's not all: the severe weather warnings not only affect Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, but also neighboring districts. How NDR.de reported, warnings for different weather elements such as gusts of wind and heavy rain can be active at the same time. The districts are colored accordingly so that you can see at a glance where there is danger. There are four danger levels, with level 4 warning of extreme weather such as hurricane force winds.

Improvement in sight

The weather situation appears to be easing from Wednesday. A friendly mix of sun and clouds is expected, but occasional short showers or thunderstorms are also possible. The temperatures climb to a pleasant 21 to 25 degrees. Thursday provides a real summer feeling with temperatures between 23 and 26 degrees, and best of all: it mostly stays dry.

It remains to be seen how the weather situation develops, but anyone who is a little optimistic about their outlook for the coming days will certainly not be disappointed. Use the time to meet people in the open air or perhaps enjoy the first berries of summer - if the weather permits.
