Three injured after spectacular rollover accident in Aurich!
A serious traffic accident rocked Emder Street in Aurich late Saturday evening. Two vehicles collided near a gas station area, resulting in a dramatic scenario. A car overturned and ended up on its roof. Luckily, all three people involved were able to get out of the vehicles independently when emergency services arrived. As the Oldenburg online newspaper reported, the injured were immediately treated by emergency services.

The rescue service and the fire departments from Aurich, Sandhorst and Holtrop were on duty to help as quickly as possible and defuse the situation. The injured were transported to nearby hospitals. A towing company finally took over the recovery of the accident vehicles, while Emder Street was partially closed for around 45 minutes - a stressful evening for everyone involved.
A look at the accident statistics
Although such incidents are always frightening, there is an encouraging development in the area of road safety. According to a recent report by the SK Publishing The number of traffic accidents requiring emergency services has decreased in recent years. The report highlights that only 1.8% of emergency calls in the year were related to a traffic accident. That's around 134,000 missions, which is an all-time low compared to the 2016/2017 survey. However, this remains a challenge for the emergency services, as the emergency doctors and the various rescue vehicles are often under great strain.
Emergency services in focus
Overall, the reports from the last few years record a significant number of operations in the rescue service: around 13.12 million operations were analyzed in the current report, a large proportion of which relate to emergency rescues. These figures illustrate the stress and challenges that emergency services have to deal with on a daily basis, even if operations have decreased due to fewer traffic accidents.
The recent events in Aurich show how important it is for the emergency services to respond quickly. Despite the critical situation, the emergency services managed to act quickly and save lives. It is to be hoped that such accidents will become less frequent in the future and people will be safer on the roads.
