Hardy Crueger, born in Oldenburg in 1962, has lived on the Oker since his childhood, where his love for Braunschweig arose. He was not only active as an author, but also as a mentor for young writers in the Braunschweig crime fiction workshop. With his rock spirit and a good knack for exciting stories, he left a lasting mark on the city of literature and supported many in developing their own texts. On social media and literary circles, the sadness of his loss weighs heavily on the hearts of his fans and colleagues.
A versatile artist
Crueger was no stranger. His work included numerous works, including the well-known trilogy about Rick-Xaver-Morton and the lovingly designed “Oker Stories”. He knew how to combine crime novels with a pinch of jazz, which made his readings unforgettable experiences. He began his career in the literary underground of the 1990s and quickly developed a loyal fan base, not only in Braunschweig but far beyond.
