Braunschweig's Christmas market: Harzer Specialties” is the winner!

The Braunschweig Christmas Market 2025, a real crowd puller, has won the hearts of many visitors this year with 140 festively decorated stands. Among these stalls, the “Harzer Specialties” stand particularly stood out and was recently named the most beautiful stand in the market. This decision was made by a jury made up of seven members, including the district mayor Jutta Plinke and representatives of the city marketing and the showmen's association. The jury agreed that the cozy Christmas design and the regionality of the products on offer were decisive in choosing the winner - wild sausage and regional cheese were on the menu at the newly opened stand, run by Gisela Elli Almstadt and her grandson Franko Almstadt. As the News38 reports, they invested around 45 hours in construction to create a Christmas atmosphere that is reminiscent of times gone by.

But it wasn’t just “Harzer Specialties” that received praise on December 1st. Second place went to “Ehlers Bratwurst”, which also has a loving decoration and a stylish atmosphere. Here guests can enjoy classic bratwurst, mushroom pan, mulled wine and children's punch. Third place was awarded to the “Milchreis Manufaktur”, which impressed with its lovingly designed roof and the selection of toppings for rice pudding.

Special awards

Another highlight of the Christmas market was the special price for “The Little Puffer Bude”. Operator Frank Berwerke has invested in an elaborate gable design to highlight his stand. Such efforts show that operators are more focused than ever on making their stalls stand out during the festive period to attract the market's many visitors. The competition between stands is great, and this incentive increases the attractiveness of the entire market, as the RND notes.

The Braunschweig Christmas market invites everyone to enjoy the festive atmosphere until December 29th, with a market shutdown on December 24th and 25th. If you don't want to miss out on the best stands, you can find further information and the stand plan at www.braunschweig.de/weihnachtsmarkt. This makes the market not only a place of enjoyment, but also a place for a successful pre-Christmas date with friends and family. If that's not good news!
