Eintracht Braunschweig strengthens: Frenkert and Scheiber in focus!
Eintracht Braunschweig has secured its first new signing for the coming season with the signing of Lukas Frenkert. The 24-year-old central defender is moving from SC Preußen Münster on a free transfer and has signed a contract until June 30, 2027, with an option for an extension. Frenkert is a promising talent who made 25 appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga last season, scoring three goals and providing two assists. Managing director Benjamin Kessel is enthusiastic about Frenkert's abilities and assures that the club has made a good catch. The player profile speaks for itself: With a height of 1.90 meters and a strong performance record, the defender can be a valuable addition to the defense.
But that's not all that's currently in the pipeline for the Lions. Eintracht Braunschweig will continue to be active in the transfer market to strengthen the squad for next season. In particular, another striker is being sought as Rayan Philippe is expected to leave the club. A potential candidate for this position is Lukas Schmelzer, whose contract with 1. FC Nürnberg ends on June 30th. Kessel has already targeted Schmelzer, which indicates a targeted strengthening of the offensive.
A high degree of flexibility
Schlimer could be an ideal new signing for Eintracht, especially because the current squad only contains two tall target players: Levante Szabo and Sebastian Polter. The 28-year-old not only brings experience, but is also characterized by his flexibility, which makes him an attractive player for the team. However, the final decision about the signing of Schmelzer could also depend on the introduction of the new coach. It will be interesting to see what ideas and desired players he will bring in.
The future transfers are of great importance for the Lions as they find themselves in a strong competitive situation within the 2nd Bundesliga. According to other reports, Eintracht Braunschweig plans to create a balanced transfer balance after the previous season ended with income of €22,350,000 and expenses of €22,770,000, resulting in a negative balance of -€420,000. Such figures show that the club is on a financially healthy path, while at the same time pursuing ambitious sporting goals.
The Eintracht supporters can look forward to an exciting and hopefully successful transfer phase. The club has already laid a solid foundation with Frenkert, and perhaps Eintracht will soon be able to present a new attacking partner for the offensive.
