Rave surprise in Braunschweig: Deep del Sol” is coming back!
Summer in Braunschweig is getting hotter, especially with the start of the popular rave festival “Deep del Sol”. Known for its relaxed atmosphere and the infectious sounds of electronic music, the festival is attracting more and more music lovers. As news38.de reports, the festival has a long history, which began in 2013 in the Lünischteich with only 50 participants. The move to Gleisdreieck in the Kennel took place in 2017, and the numbers increased to around 1,000 participants in 2024.
The main organizer Peter Groß caused a stir when he announced the end of the festival after twelve years at the beginning of the year. Various reasons, including outside investor interest in the venue, contributed to this decision. But fans can breathe a sigh of relief – surprisingly, a “Deep del Sol Open Air Fest” has been announced for 2023.
The new edition
The “Deep del Sol Open Air Fest” will take place on August 2nd, 2025 in Bürgerpark, Theodor-Heuss-Straße 2 in Braunschweig. Allevents.in highlights that entry is free, but a small donation is requested. The event starts at 12pm and ends at 11pm with numerous regional DJs on the decks.
The highlights include DJ Daniel B., René Schneider, Soul Pistols and Patrick O'Neal, who will provide rousing beats. Drinks and food are provided and organizers emphasize that you are not allowed to bring your own drinks to make the experience enjoyable.
Community and musical diversity
The importance of such festivals goes beyond music. Themusicessentials.com shows that raves and festivals play an essential role in EDM culture. They have evolved enormously since their beginnings in the 1980s as secret warehouse parties. These events foster a community among participants and create close bonds through shared experiences.
The festival in Braunschweig is not only a place to celebrate, but also a platform for up-and-coming artists and DJs to present their talents. With impressive light shows and visual effects, raves create a special atmosphere that forms a unity with music and technology.
With the upcoming new edition of “Deep del Sol” in August, one thing is clear: the love of electronic music and the connection among fans will continue to exist in Braunschweig’s vibrant scene. A look at the meadow in the Bürgerpark makes it clear: not only is there dancing here, but there is also a sense of community.
