World premiere in Wolfsburg: 190 bikers for mental health on tour!
Today 190 motorcycles and racing bikes rolled through the streets in Wolfsburg and Braunschweig - an impressive sign that the taboo surrounding depression has been removed. Led by members of the Fellowship Ride, an international motorcycle movement, the participants started at the Autostadt parking lot. The event was not just a one-off motorcycle ride, but a demonstration of the importance of mental health, accompanied by many personal stories. The event was organized by VW employee Nelson Pinheiro and was the fourth of its kind.
What exactly happened today? Two convoys - one for motorcyclists, one for racing cyclists - made their way to Braunschweig and promoted two good causes: the clinic for child and adolescent psychiatry and the KISS Wolfsburg organization, which campaigns for mental illnesses. “Every route driven is a statement,” is the message from the organizers Fellowship Ride, who organize rides around the world to raise awareness of mental health. Today's event gave riders the opportunity to connect while sending a clear message: it's important to talk about mental illness and support each other.
Some impressive numbers
Participants came from a variety of backgrounds – from personal experiences with mental illness to support from friends and acquaintances. The 50 racing cyclists included teams from MTV Vorsfelde and VfB Fallersleben, who pedaled together for a good cause. The Vespa Club Passione was also on board and focused on the fun and deep meaning of the ride.

Edith Gerhardt, the managing director of the Autostadt, praised the participants for their courage and role model function. Mayor Andreas Klaffehn also emphasized the importance of such actions for social awareness. “It is important that we talk about issues like depression and not sweep them under the rug,” he emphasized.
Mental health in focus
Mental health plays an essential role in quality of life, social interaction and performance. According to that Robert Koch Institute These topics are widespread in society and affect many people. However, there is often stigma surrounding mental illness, which makes communication and understanding difficult.
Events like the Fellowship Ride are intended to have a positive influence. Participants not only advocate for themselves, but also create space for conversations about mental health. Every trip, whether on a motorcycle or a racing bike, becomes a step in the right direction - towards more openness and understanding.
In summary: Today we not only experienced an impressive bike ride, but also sent a strong message against the silence surrounding mental illness. Change comes through conversation and community - and that's exactly what was happening here today.
