Celler Schützenfest 2025: Tradition meets new highlights!

Tradition is very important in Celle! On July 19, 2025, representatives of the administration and the mayor Dr. Jörg Nigge in the Old Town Hall to celebrate the Celle Schützenfest together. This event, which has thrilled generations of citizens since 1949, combines deep-rooted tradition with festive highlights and innovative approaches.

The festival site opened for the celebrations on Friday, July 18th and offered a diverse program.

A highlight of the first day of the festival was the Kolkaus fishing and the subsequent fish dinner in the Congress Union. After a captivating torchlight procession and the big tattoo in the evening, DJ Kai kept the festival tent lively with his hits.

On Saturday, July 19th, a colorful hustle and bustle awaited visitors:

  • 9:45 Uhr: Rathauskönigsschießen in der Theo Wilkens-Halle
  • 11 Uhr: Schützen- und Bürgerfrühstück
  • 17:15 Uhr: Königsempfang im Alten Rathaus
  • 17:30 Uhr: Platzkonzert auf dem Großen Plan
  • 18:30 Uhr: Bierfassanstich durch Oberbürgermeister Jörg Nigge
  • 20 Uhr: Livemusik von Deep Passion
  • 22:45 Uhr: Erstes Höhenfeuerwerk

Other highlights during the festival include cannonades and wake-up parades on Sunday, a speech by the mayor, and the honoring of the citizen king and the mini-kings. A royal shooting and a celebratory royal ball round off the events, while on Tuesday families are invited to discounted prices and the second high-altitude fireworks display unfolds its colors over the city.
