Frescoes for Tour de France: Kunst feirer Normandie og landbruk!

Colomby-Anguerny, Frankreich - Hva bringer sommeren 2025 for regionen rundt Caen? En ekte festival for land- og hjulelskere er overhengende! On July 9, 2025, there was not only exciting bike races to be observed during the time trial exam of the Tour de France, but also impressive artistic performances that put the beauty of Norman agriculture in the foreground. In a field north of Caen, a large fresco of a flax plant and the lettering "Lin 14" could be seen, which symbolize the region's commitment to their agricultural landscape.

Under mottoet "Notre Terroir" fokuserer Tour de France 2025 på de normanniske landbruksferdighetene og imponerende landlige landskap. This does not happen for the first time: The partnership between the Fnsea and the Tour de France has existed since 2008 and has already led to the creation of numerous frescoes in the past. Dozens of farmers and creatives have participated in the Falaise vicinity in the “Les Agricultural Aiment Le Tour” competition in order to realize fascinating agricultural works of art. According to the information from Agriculteur Normand are planned for the male and female edition of the Tour de France 2025. This achieves a new record for the artistic project.

Det kreative høydepunktet i Basly

The residents of the Basly municipality can be particularly proud of the greatest fresco by the artist Anne-Ingrid Le Granché, which was created here. The 35 × 35 -meter representation of a flax plant attracts everyone and demonstrates the connection of the region with its agricultural tradition. Over 25 volunteers have participated in the implementation of the frescoes, which were created with biodegradable color, Miscanthus and flax fibers. Anne-Ingrid Le Granché, who moved her profession to land artist in 2018, draws inspiration from the natural environment and creates works that are in harmony with nature.

The creation of the frescoes traditionally includes a process in which drawing on paper easily moves into the background, while the large motifs are transferred directly to the field. In addition to the frescoes, a “Village Emploi Agricole” is also set up in Colomby-Anguerny, which with 3,000 expected visitors is a meeting point for enthusiastic and interested. Dette initiativet muliggjør en spennende sammenheng mellom kunst og landbruk midt i det mest berømte sykkeltrittet i verden.

Internasjonal dimensjon av kunst

Also in Denmark, agriculture blooms in a new light when the Tour de France crosses the Vejle region to Sonderburg in July 2025. Here a land art project in cooperation between the farmers' association and a design school in Kolding is implemented. Under mottoet "Aux Vélos, Sydjylland!" is creatively decorated along the route with straw bales, plants and agricultural devices to indicate cycling, sustainability and the beauty of nature.
